And then there was Josie.

There's nothing sweeter then a new baby. I don't think it matters how many you have, each one is different and totally sweet in his or her own way. Josie is two weeks old and sweet as sugar. She was gorgeous with her dark brown hair.  Here Mama got creative and made some headbands for the girls. . .feathers and all. I'm not sure when she found the time to do this but she did and they were super cute. She even made a tutu for Josie.  Josie joins these two. I'm sure she will be taken very good care of. When I was there she was smothered with kisses on several occasions.

Congratulations on your new little girl! She's a beauty.

Lauren + Ken

I'm so excited for these two. I'm not sure where to begin. . .we had a very eventful session Sunday after noon. Things started off great. We were all on time, the weather wasn't too bad and I knew this location was going to be perfect for this couple. (its one of my favorite places) We chatted a bit, took a few pictures in a field and decided to drive around to another location. Things were going really well. This couple seemed up for anything and I was getting excited about the rest of the session. . .I think they were too. Anyways, we drove down the road, parked and I went to get out of my car. As I go out, I realized something was wrong but wasn't sure what. Lauren was holding her finger, and Ken was looking at the road. Turned out that Lauren had slammed her finger in the door (we were parked on a slight slant so her door swung close). When she yanked it out her engagement ring flew off her finger and into the road. As soon as Ken spotted the ring on the road a van drove by. . .the ring was lined up perfectly with the back tire and was smashed.  The perfect blue Sapphire shot out of the ring. Ken saw where it had fallen and was able to retrieve the ring and the stone. The perfect start to our session had been ruined and so was the beautiful ring. I was so sad for her.  Ken did amazing. He wasn't mad, he didn't yell (except at the driver of the van) and he reasurred her that they could get it fixed. The photo session resummed. . .after some wiping up of tears, and it turned out great.  Its much easier to see true character when things aren't going fine and dandy. I like this couple and it was nice to see how much they liked each other, even in a bad situation. Were were able to get one picture of the ring but we are determined to get a better one at the wedding. Congratulations you two!

The Style Crusader.

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing the Style Crusader. She was in need of some new photos for a her popular blog so I stepped up to the plate and helped her out. It was the least I could do. . .after all, she is my little sister. It was freezing and windy but it didn't stop her from ripping off her coat and getting in front of the camera. I stood behind the camera bundled up in my puffy jacket and clicked away. Here's what we walked away with. Enjoy!

Small but Sweet. . .

It all started in a small sanctuary. There is something so special about a small wedding and being surrounded by those you hold most dear.
The bride was beautiful in her long stunning silver dress and I loved the matching flower in her hair.

The bride was able to meet all her guests as they arrived and was truly excited for the ceremony that was going to begin soon.  Once everyone had arrived it was time to get things started.
The bride's daughter and the groom's father stood by their sides and supported them throughout the ceremony.
The excitement on these two face's was contagious. I love it when couples are so excited about their new commitment to each other.

The reception was like a big Christmas party. The decorations were beautiful and the food was amazing. . .which, by the way, the groom had cooked up.
Congratulations you two!

Mr. Jack

 Meet Jack.
 He's a perfect little gift. . .

This little guy was super cute and super relaxed.
His parents were obviously in love with him.

Baby Blues.

Look at this little sweetie. . .he's almost exactly 3 months old.
His Mama was definitely in love with him. . .and it was so obvious. She was soaking him in.
After a little outside time we headed inside. Trevor got a bottle and was stripped down to his diaper, which is always my favorite.
After some swaying it was floor time,
 which worked out perfect.
 The lighting was perfect,
 the baby was perfect,
and even the Mama was perfect. She was game for anything.
Mr. Blue eyes did a great job putting up with me for so long. Thanks so much for letting me into your home and letting me capture such a special time in your lives.
